The Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument protects thousands of acres of land with significant biological, historical, and geological value. One of those areas, located near Loma, MT, off Highway 87, is Decision Point. This area was where the Corps of Discovery, led by famed explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark determined the true course of the Missouri River, and eventually its headwaters in the mountains.
Today Decision Point provides a phenomenal view of the Missouri and Marias rivers, as well as access to fantastic fishing and other recreational opportunities. Unfortunately, increased use of the area has resulted in the spreading of unwanted, invasive species such as Russian olive and spotted knapweed.
We invite you to join Monument Staff and help remove these and other invasives from such an important area. Help us to better maintain your public lands on this year's National Public Lands Day and learn more about this area's rich history. We can't wait to see you!
