Growing Together: A Community Floodplain Revegetation Effort
Registration will begin around 10:00 a.m. at the Nome Creek Bridge. Participants will divide into work groups to stake willow trees and plant seeds. Volunteers should come prepared for any kind of weather, with warm clothing, hats, rain gear, sturdy boots, and work gloves. Volunteers should also bring water, snacks, and a lunch.

Celebrate National Public Lands Day and be a steward of the White Mountains National Recreation Area. Plant trees and native seeds to help naturalize the scars of mining followed by an explanation of riparian habitat restoration.

Itinerary

Meet at the Nome Creek Bridge at 10:00 a.m. Planting will take place followed by a Q&A about riparian restoration. The day is expected to conclude in the midafternoon.
