2018 USFS Pollinator/Community Garden Grant - NOW CLOSED

The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), with major funding support from US Forest Service (USFS), is offering a little over $10,700 through mini-grants to facilitate Pollinator Garden and/Community Garden activities. Awarded grantees will be expected to facilitate the development of educational and conservation activities on local Forest Service lands, other partner public lands, local and municipal public lands, or on lands within urban communities.

2018 USFS BioBlitz Grant - NOW CLOSED

The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), with major funding support from US Forest Service (USFS), is offering a little over $17,000 through mini-grants to facilitate BioBlitz activities. Awarded grantees will be expected to facilitate the development of educational and conservation activities on local Forest Service lands, other partner public lands, local and municipal public lands, or on lands within urban communities. Programming should connect participants to urban forests and nature-based spaces: meeting people where they are.

Make your next field experience a learning expedition. This guide is designed to assist in planning an instructive and memorable outing that incorporates best practices of outdoor environmental education.

The toolkit proceeds step-by-step from planning, to conducting, to presenting place-based projects. Additional resources and tips are suggested. Supplemental activities that develop goal setting, leadership, and team building skills are also included.

Activating the Workplace by Engaging Employees in Sustainability

In its ongoing exploration of the correlation between corporate sustainability programs and employee job satisfaction, NEEF convened corporate thought leaders to share best practices and measure the top drivers of sustainability engagement.

Among the findings, nearly 90% of employees engaged in their company’s sustainability work say it enhances their job satisfaction and overall feelings about the company.

2017 Every Day Event Grantees

Our nation’s public lands are places where we picnic, play ball, fish, fly kites, pull weeds, and plant seeds. Our public lands should be safe places of natural beauty where everyone can go to lend a hand, observe nature, and enjoy life. With generous support from Toyota Motor North America, NEEF offers Every Day Event Grants to public land organizations, or Friends Groups,to engage their community on a public land site.
