2017 Greening STEM Grant for Educators (Now Closed)

NEEF, with major funding support from Samsung, is offering a total of $12,000 in funding to educators in the New York City/northern New Jersey area and the Washington, DC metro area for programs that support the integration of Greening STEM into place-based, hands-on learning experiences on a public land or waterway. Grants will range in size from $1,000 to $5,000 each.

2018 Every Day Capacity Building Grants

Every Day Capacity Building Grants provide Friends Groups with grant funds of up to $5,000 to help build their organizational capacity to serve public lands.

Rock Creek Park Signature Event 2011

On September 24, 2011, approximately 200 volunteers came out to Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC for National Public Lands Day. They cleared trail and removed invasive species. Afterwards, volunteers attended a recreation and health fair at the Rock Creek Park nature center, which featured guest speakers including Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin.

2018 Hands on the Land Mini-Grants - NOW CLOSED

The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), in partnership with PRE (Partners in Resource Education) will award a total of $65,000 to Hands on the Land (HOL) Network sites to support their efforts to deliver high-quality placed-based environmental education and STEM programming that is aligned with national K-12 education standards.

US Forest Service Grant for National Public Lands Day

The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) and U.S. Forest Service are offering a total of $15,000 in grant funds for U.S. Forest Service partners who support Forest Service sponsored National Public Lands Day (NPLD) projects. The goal of NPLD is to improve the quality of public lands and to educate the public about natural resource issues and stewardship.
