2026 Veterans and Nature Grant

Operation Anacapa 2026 will give veterans the opportunity to spend a full day sport fishing around California’s Channel Islands alongside veteran peer mentors. Therapists and clinicians will also participate, creating space for conversations about stress, wellness, and practical tools for supporting well-being.

Front Range Pathways to Healing: A Veteran Outdoor Season will offer veterans in the Denver area a season of guided activities including hiking, climbing, and snowshoeing. Veteran leadership, wellness reflection, clinical follow-up, and involvement of family members make the program a broader support experience rather than a one-time outdoor outing.

Veterans Restore Deer Creek: A Conservation Wellness Program will engage veterans in hands-on restoration at Utah’s Deer Creek Reservoir and State Park. Participants will tackle substantial debris removal, learn watercraft and restoration skills, and take part in structured conversations about wellness and the sense of purpose that can come from service.

Ride & Restore will provide disabled veterans with six all-inclusive adaptive cycling weekends along the Western Maryland Rail Trail. The rides will combine accessible outdoor recreation with ecological learning and wellness activities, giving participants repeated opportunities to experience nature and build confidence outdoors.

Cook County Veterans in Nature: Armed Forces Week Series will connect veterans, military families, and caregivers with the Cook County Forest Preserves through a series of community events. Activities include a women veterans hike and luncheon, a family and caregiver recreation day, a leadership summit, and a gathering focused on veterans, nature, and healing, expanding access to outdoor experiences in the Chicago area.
