A gathering to help help cleanup the community.

Join Natural Restorations & the U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest for our 10th annual National Public Lands Day Lower Salt River Cleanup. Spend the morning exploring the riverbanks and trails along the Lower Salt River, picking up scattered trash along the way. Youth volunteers welcome!

Clean up Lake Cumberland by removing trash, tires, appliances, etc., from the shoreline. Gloves and garbage bags will be provided.

Established in 1994 and held annually on the fourth Saturday in September, National Public Lands Day is traditionally the nation's largest single-day volunteer effort. It celebrates the connection between people and green space in their community, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages use of open space for education, recreation, and health benefits. As such, volunteers and staff will be removing invasive species and picking up trash at Longfellow Evangeline State Historic Site from 9:00 am to Noon. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and wear protective clothing.

Want to help Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge in preparing for our fall prescribed fires? Join us on National Public Lands Day to build piles of invasives and fallen debris that will be tackled by our fighters in October. We will also be joined by one of our wildland firefighters to discuss the importance of prescribed burns and career opportunities in the field.

We will be removing invasive plants by hand and with tools. This will be a muddy but rewarding work experience that will help protect native plants . We will work in assigned areas and groups. The project will end with a lunch on site.

Get the Trash out of the Splash! Ruth Lake is a beautiful recreation resource, but has that typical bathtub ring effect along the shoreline of bottles, cans, and other litter that has collected over the years.

Help improve Phillippi Estate Park by weeding, pruning, planting, removing nuisance plants and pickup up trash.

Please join us for a morning of trail maintenance to enhance the beauty of the Fiddlewood Trail loop. The event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The Nisqually Watershed Festival celebrates our interconnected home! We welcome our community to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge to enjoy a day of events and activities centered on the nature that sustains us. This year's wildlife theme is wildflowers!

Sky Meadows will honor National Public Lands Day by hosting a workday designed to offer volunteers the opportunity to help restore, improve, and protect our shared public land. The project, which is open to all members of the public, will be removing invasive trees and vines from areas adjacent to the Rolling Meadows Trail on the Lost Mountain side of the park.

A community-wide Cleanup Event at 20+ locations in the Yuba River Watershed

Assist the Pipestone National Monument, Natual Resources Department with the removal of invasive species and the collecting of native prairie seeds in our efforts to protect and restore the native tall grass prairie.

Event will be 9:00 am - 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27th. Lunch will be provided.

Join Refuge staff & volunteers, as well as members of the public for the annual community tree planting event. We will be working in teams across the Refuge to plant trees and erect or repair exclusionary fencing as part of ongoing habitat restoration efforts.

Volunteers will be constructing a post and rail fence to help designate a parking area for the North Peak Trailhead.

Join community members, local partners, the Bureau of Land Management, local mountain bike groups, and the Friends of the Lost Coast to celebrate National Public Lands Day by conducting trail maintenance projects on the Paradise Royale Trail System, in the King Range National Conservation Area.

Please join us in celebrating our tenth year of caring for the sacred Mother Stone outside Landers, CA, for NPLD.
Prep on Friday, September 26th, camp overnight, and remove graffiti and garbage on Saturday, September 27th.

Beaver Lake Volunteer Day is an annual event in Arkansas dedicated to preserving the health and beauty of Beaver Lake. The event features shoreline and boat-based litter cleanups, with volunteers encouraged to bring their own boats. After the cleanup, participants gather at Hickory Creek Park for a lunch and a educational booths, where organizations shared data from Secchi Day and discuss efforts to protect the lake. The event underscores the importance of community involvement in maintaining water quality and promoting environmental stewardship.

Celebrate National Public Lands day by joining us for this three-day volunteer event, hosted in partnership with the BLM San Luis Valley Field Office. This project will focus on improving habitat and breeding conditions for the Gunnison Sage-Grouse, an endangered species found in the San Luis Valley. This year, we’ll work in a new location near Villa Grove, building on the success of similar efforts in previous years.

Volunteers will focus on enhancing the trailhead and nearby areas of Arroyos Del Sol. Tasks include staining and improving fences, removing encroaching weeds, and performing partial trail maintenance to ensure the area is safe and welcoming. You may also assist with installing signs to improve navigation for visitors. Early in the morning, you may catch views of rising hot air balloons and spot local wildlife, making this project a rewarding way to connect with the outdoors.

Celebrate National Public Lands Day and be a steward of the Great Burn ecosystem. Cleanup an old trash pile and help naturalize the scar followed by some sauntering and wandering in this hidden gem so close to Missoula.

Trail work day, improving hiking trail conditions in/around Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. Work may include cutting trail backslope, smoothing and flattening trail tread, , improving/ reinforcing switchbacks and rock steps, cleaning drainage diverts, and pruning back vegetation overgrowth.

Join us for our 40th annual lake Allatoona shoreline clean up. Be one of the 2000-3000 volunteers to help collect tons of trash. Scouts, school children, area residents, businesses, civic and church groups, and others come together with the goal to collect as much trash as possible.

25th Annual Shoreline Cleanup Event - Volunteers from across southwest Missouri converge on Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals Lake to clean litter from the shorelines. This event is a 100% volunteer effort for those who care about water quality and keeping our lakes, rivers, streams, and reservoirs clean and healthy.

There will be many projects to choose from and every age is welcome. Together we will make a difference and make our park better for all to enjoy. I hope you can join us for a fun filled day of giving back to our federal lands.

Please help us restore Patoka Lake’s shoreline to its natural state of beauty and cleanliness for wildlife safety and water quality. Bring your family, friends, organizations or coworkers. Dress to pickup trash in the weeds along the highways and shorelines. Gloves, trash bags, and bug spray will be available.

Explore Flagstaff’s first neighborhood at Elden Pueblo. Tours at 10 am, noon and 2 pm, with artifact displays, excavations and hunting games.

We will be painting life jacket loaner stations restrooms and vault toilets, trail maintenance, cleaning flower beds, picking up litter, and other beautification projects. Lunch will be provided as well.

Come out and celebrate National Public Lands Day at New Hogan Lake!

Registration will begin around 8:00 a.m. at the Historic Longmire Gas Station. After a brief welcome at 8:45, participants will divide into work groups including trails, revegetation, campground upkeep, and other projects. Volunteers should come prepared for any kind of weather, with warm clothing, rain gear, sturdy footwear, and gloves. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and hats are also recommended. Volunteers should also bring water, snacks, and a lunch. Entrance fees are waived on National Public Lands Day.

Planting many native shrubs and flowers in an old depleted borrow pit on Eglin and spreading wildflower seed to help populations of monarch butterflies. Adding soil amendments to help establish all of the plants that are put in the ground.

Volunteers will join Sand Flats staff in improving the popular recreation area located just two miles from Moab, Utah.

Volunteers will float Westwater Canyon in search of trash, weeds and other intrusions.

Delineating the Cliffhanger (Amasa Back) Jeep Trail

This volunteer project is perfect for all age ranges and abilities. We will be doing ice plant removal, watering native violet seedlings, and removing invasive pines. Volunteers are welcome to join us and our partners afterwards for the Celebrate the Coast event.

For the benefit of the Federally-threatened Piping Plover and other shorebirds, volunteers are needed to help clear litter and debris from all areas of Ocean Drive between the North Gate, and the Oso Bay bridge. This area is adjacent to important shorebird habitat. The cleanup will prevent litter, trash, and debris from disrupting the piping plover and other shorebirds using the coastal sand-flat habitat.

Plant a living hedge, trees, and other plants to help enhance military training area at Rees Training Center.

Learn and participate in riparian restoration at Camp Rilea. Participants will help plant alder trees and other native plants along the river to improve pollinator habitat, enhance installation resilience through erosion control, restore a historically significant ecosystem, and manage valuable natural resources.

The BIAK Route Rehabilitation would focus on the decommissioning of illegal routes and reestablishment of native plant communities in the BIAK Training area near Highway 126, East of Redmond Oregon.

As an official site of the Grand County Interagency NPLD Event the BLM will be partnering again with Protect Our Rivers (protectourrivers.org) for the Upper Colorado River 16th Annual River Cleanup and trail work. The Blue Blaze Festival is a celebration of the trail, whether you are a Trail Runner, Hiker or would like to learn more about backpacking you are welcome to be a part of our celebration of the Buckeye Trail. Join us for the 2025 Buckeye Trail (BT) Blue Blaze Festival and explore the diversity and beauty of the outdoors. This year we will be joining forces with Destination Shawnee, the Tecumseh Theater and outdoor recreational organizations to bring together runners, hikers and outdoor enthusiasts to the Village of Shawnee. This section of the Buckeye Trail, in the Wayne National Forest, is mostly single-track trail and provides some very challenging terrain.

Active conservation of endangered species at JBLM is an important part of not only stewarding a healthy and resilient ecosystem, but in providing military training flexibility to promote mission readiness. This year's National Public Lands Day event will help restore habitat for Federally Endangered Taylor's checkerspot butterflies, as well as several species of rare native birds, bees, and bats. Join our biologists for a work party and ecological tour at Clear Creek Prairie, where will be conducting post-fire brush removal, installing mason bee blocks, and building new purple martin nest towers and bat roost boxes.

The Bureau of Land Management staff will host a volunteer event at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area on 9/27/25 from 8:00-11:00 am.

Join a hands-on community conservation project to transform underused land into vibrant meadows that support Monarch butterflies and other vital pollinators. At Marine Corps Base Quantico, we're restoring critical habitat by planting two high-visibility meadows filled with milkweed and native wildflowers — essential stopover sites for migrating Monarchs, a species recently proposed for protection under the Endangered Species Act.

This is more than just a planting project — it's a chance to build something lasting. Volunteers will dig in on a variety of activities, including planting, harvesting and propagating seeds, constructing a rainwater catchment system with storage, and helping create a living classroom with interpretive signs. These signs will show how military and urban spaces can be reimagined as thriving biodiversity hotspots.

The big kickoff is September 27, marking the start of a long-term, self-sustaining effort that protects an important indicator species while educating the public and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship across the installation.

The Great Land Between the Lakes Trash Cleanup will occur on September 27th throughout the whole day. Participants are encouraged to stop by at North or South Welcome, Fenton Day Use Area or Energy Rd. Parking to pick up a trash bag and pair of gloves! While enjoying your time in Land Between the Lakes hiking, kayaking, horseback riding or whatever suits your fancy, fill up the trash bag with litter and drop it off as you leave Land Between the Lakes for the day.

Come support National Public Lands Day with us at J. Percy Priest Lake. We will be focusing on trash pick up on our islands and small maintenance on camping areas. Lunch will be provided after the event is over. Registration will open August 15th, 2025 and close on September 19th, 2025.

Join the Bureau of Land Management and partner organizations for National Public Lands Day at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area on September 27, 2025. Volunteers can participate in exciting projects, including a BioBlitz to catalog local species and cleanup efforts along State Route 159. All ages are welcome, and this event offers a chance to connect with nature, build community, and make a lasting impact on our cherished public lands.

Volunteers will assist BLM staff in restoring sensitive habitat for the threatened Gunnison Sage-Grouse. The work will include lopping down small pinyon and juniper trees and scattering them on the ground. This will enhance the habitat for the sage grouse due to their aversion to tall trees and potential for predators to perch on those trees. The felled trees help retain soil moisture and provide habitat for small animals, also playing a role in improving the landscape for Gunnison sage-grouse habitat.

Lake Mead will be hosting a litter cleanup of a popular location at the park. During the summer, parts of the park are hit hard due to high visitation. Lake Mead staff will assess where the best location to hold the event. Please join us.

As an official site of the Grand County Interagency NPLD Event the BLM will be partnering again with Protect Our Rivers (protectourrivers.org) for the Upper Colorado River 17th Annual River Cleanup. The goal is to provide educational opportunities for the protection of rivers and Leave No Trace ethics for volunteers while conducting trash and refuse removal along the Colorado River, recreation areas, river day use and campsite locations. Additional volunteer work may include maintenance of sites and/or trails along the river. Celebrate National Public Lands Day with KTA! During this celebratory one-day trail maintenance extravaganza, volunteers and community partners will tackle multiple trail maintenance projects on several trails in Allegheny National Forest.

BLM will have a tent set up with Recreation, Wild Horse and Burro, and other resource specialists to provide information to the public regarding Leave No Trace principles, Wild Horse and Burro regulations and best practices, as well as information regarding their local BLM public lands.

Habitat Restoration Work

Enjoy the night sky with an evening under the stars, observing with others and making new friends.

This event will focus on minor repairs/maintenance of the Murray Basin Trail. Volunteers will use hand tools to dig sections of the trail by re-shaping tread and digging out "berm" sections where water isn't draining properly. We will also clean up garbage around the parking/kiosk area at the trailhead. If the proper materials are obtained before the event, we will also likely replace the Kiosk at the trailhead with a brand-new one.

Come out to Lake Norman State Park on National Public Lands Day! We will be planting beautiful native species along a few areas of our park to help the pollinators and bring in more diversity! Contact the Lake Norman visitor center to sign up 704-528-6350.

Park rangers and members of the Downeast Astronomers Association will provide telescopes for viewing stars, planets, and possibly other galaxies during the two-hour event. This is good for all ages and the event is free with no registration required.

You may, if you have one, bring your own telescope if you wish.

We will work on service projects to maintain the course and parking areas. This will include installing new posts in the parking area, vegetation management, cutting and hauling downed wood, maintaining golf tees, and other needs.

Are you interested in helping to clean up and restore the natural environment located within the Whittier Narrows - San Gabriel Dam Basin in South El Monte, California? If yes, we'd appreciate your help in celebrating our stewardship of the land and water during our annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD) event. This year's NPLD "Our Home Outdoors" event will be hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) – Los Angeles District (who own the land) in conjunction with the County of Los Angeles – Parks & Recreation (who manage a large portion of the land) within the Whittier Narrows Dam Basin. Our primary goal will be to remove litter/debris from the San Gabriel River area upstream of the Whittier Narrows – San Gabriel Dam. Our secondary goal will be to support the Corps’ Whittier Narrows Dam Safety Modification Project (DSMP) environmental commitments. Volunteers will be removing non-native plants from the habitat restoration area (about 50 acres) to help native plants regrow. In addition to weeding, volunteers may be asked to help with sweeping, picking up litter, bagging leaves, raking, or repainting park benches. If the weeding group finishes early, they will be re-routed to assist with the litter/debris removal portion of the event.

Join us for a gardening event at the Olympic National Park entrance sign and Visitor Center in Port Angeles, WA. We will be weeding, deadheading, and mulching.

Join the Roger Canyon Subcommittee of the Southeast Wyoming Outdoor Recreation Collaborative for their biannual cleanup of Roger Canyon on Saturday, September 27th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. Supplies and lunch will be provided for those who RSVP.

We will be fixing/updating signs, planting grasses and trees, removing graffiti, repairing the loading ramp, and repairing fences.

Celebrate National Public Lands Day at beautiful Sandy Hook's Fishing Beach by lending a hand at our park clean-up! Volunteers will enjoy views of natural, cultural, and/or historical resources while they remove litter and debris, helping protect native habitats and minimize debris around the park. This is a fun family-friendly volunteer opportunity, and volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Washington Square is one of five squares founded in 1682 by William Penn, in Philadelphia. Volunteers will assist in beautifying this park by creating expanded tree bed rings and filling them with mulch.

The BLM White River Field Office partners with the Town of Meeker and the Eastern Rio Blanco Parks and Rec District, and local community volunteers to perform trail maintenance on the Meeker Trails hiking and mountain biking single-track trail system.

Volunteers will serve as a Site Steward as part of the 2025 National Public Lands Day event hosted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Vale District, Malheur Field Office (MFO). Site Stewards will monitor archaeological and cultural site conditions under the guidance and support of Vale District archaeologists. 4th Grade Outdoor Classroom event for Desert Willow Elementary School.

This fun, family-friendly event will include volunteer activities, educational opportunities, and a chance to connect with others, all while enjoying a beautiful morning at Mni Owe Sni!

Volunteers will work with park staff in the field, in off trail areas surveying plants in order to help the park identify and record the distribution of native and invasive plants.

Volunteers for this event will meet at the entrance point of Chance Gulch ACEC and erect informational kiosks and install gates for seasonal closures for the purpose of conserving wildlife. Providing information where the BLM asks the public to limit their access is vital for improving visitor engagement, promoting compliance, responsible use of public lands and can foster a sense of stewardship and appreciation for the local natural resource. Additionally, the group will plant sagebrush and seed with native local seed to restore a disturbed area near the parking area.

The Peregrine Fund and Bureau of Land Management at Vermilion Cliffs National Monument are hosting a celebration on National Public Lands Day, Saturday, September 27 by releasing five captive-bred California Condors at 12 p.m. MDT (11 a.m. MST, northern-Arizona Condor Time) to take their first flights in the wild. The event will be held in-person at Vermilion Cliffs National Monument for anyone interested in traveling to the area, and it will be live streamed via The Peregrine Fund’s YouTube Channel.

Help keep your community beautiful by supporting The Tollgate Arboretum and Donelson Welcome signs. You can serve by collecting litter, pruning trees and shrubs, weeding, planting, and installing our new Tree Identification Signs. Gloves, safety vests, and tools will be provided. Meet at the Tollbooth Arboretum on the corner of Lebanon Pike and Stewarts Ferry Pike, street parking available on Donelsonwood Dr. and the parking lot at Donelson Middle School.

The Battle Mountain District (BMDO) for the Bureau of Land Management will be hosting a cleanup event around Spencer Hot Springs located southeast of Austin, Nevada. We will be cleaning up the trash along the site, along with defining the boundaries of parking areas, trails, and some vegetation areas. Water, gloves, trash bags, and some trash grabbers will be provided. While there you can chat with the specialist of the BMDO, getting the opportunity to learn what makes our public land special, and what can we do together protect it.

Wekiwa Springs State Park Trail Clean Up. Pick up litter on the trails and explore the Real Florida. There will be a bilingual Spanish speaking ranger available for translation and inclusion.

We will be performing various clean up tasks outside at Hamilton Grange.

Volunteers will assist with a variety of land management projects on Pine Lily Preserve, a Green PLACE property in Orlando, Florida. The event is a family-friendly project open to groups, scouts, students seeking volunteer hours, and all who are interested in helping!

Join the National Park Service and the Santa Monica Mountains Fund to help restore and re-energize one of the most popular canyons in the Santa Monica Mountains. Join us at Cheeseboro Canyon in Agoura Hills, CA from 8:30am- 1:00pm where volunteers will help plant native vegetation in areas impacted by wildfires and help maintain trail accessibility for all to safely recreate in our public lands. Training, education, and lunch will be provided by the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and the Santa Monica Mountains Fund.

Note that Cheeseboro Canyon is known for heating up by noon, so please plan ahead and hydrate and rest well the days leading up to the event!

Yosemite Facelift is our flagship annual event—a week-long, park-wide cleanup that brings together climbers, locals, and visitors to care for Yosemite. With daily cleanups, evening programs, and a vibrant community spirit, it's the largest volunteer event in any national park and a powerful celebration of stewardship in action.

Come celebrate and create at Shenandoah National Park! For National Public Lands Day, The Shenandoah National Park Trust will be hosting Art in the Park events on Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th. Public workshops will take place near the Big Meadows Wayside and will explore mediums such as watercolor, photography, fiber art, printmaking, and music. No registration needed! Art in the Park events are open and free to the public! September 27th is also a fee free day, so come enjoy your public lands!

A service project to help maintain the Big Meadows will be hosted on September 27th from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Volunteers will further efforts to reduce woody vegetation growing in the Big Meadows by hauling out locusts tree logs. Removing the woody vegetation from the meadow maintains its unique cultural and environmental significance. Volunteers will be joined by park staff to learn more about the botanic significance of Big Meadows and why this work is important. Then you will go out and hike on your own while documenting the species you find along the way!

Join us at Laguna Canyon Foundation Headquarters’ native plant nursery as we care for native plants from their seed stage to their mature, ready-to-be planted stage. Volunteers may collect seeds, sow seeds in flats, bump plants up, plant at restoration sites, sterilize plant containers, and generally help maintain the nursery. Gain hands-on experience with habitat restoration while working alongside other zany and interesting plant lovers!

In celebration and support of National Public Lands Day, the Friends group will be hosting a work day at Erwin National Fish Hatchery. Pollinator garden work is the focus.

Join Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District staff as we celebrate National Public Lands Day with trail maintenance at Long Ridge Open Space Preserve on the Achistaca Trail. We will be restoring the tread width by removing accumulated soil and some vegetation that's grown into it.

The 6th Annual Talbot Tidewater Celebration is a family event featuring a kids fishing clinic, guided hikes and canoe rides, environmental organization exhibits, many hands-on activities for kids and adults, presentations, live music and food for purchase in a beautiful location. Zion National Park is celebrating National Public Lands Day with a litter and graffiti removal event!

Chamizal National Memorial will host a BioBlitz event in conjunction with the NPLD BioBlitz with NEEF and iNaturalist.

2025 will be Grand County Colorado's 31st NPLD! There will be a variety of projects on pulic lands across Grand County for every skill level of participant.

Pre-registered volunteers will assist the National Park Service in removing litter and debris from the Fort Caroline National Memorial shoreline on the St. John's River.

HGRP provides volunteer work related to the caves in the Lincoln National Forest in southeastern New Mexico. Typical activities we do include monitoring, restoration, formation repair, trail flagging repair, summer exit bat counts, survey.

There are many amazing sites that you can recreate in throughout your public lands and, unfortunately, illegal dumping and litter is a problem in many of these sites. In light of this, we are facilitating a trash cleanup event on the Pecos River on the Friday before National Public Lands Day. Snacks, water, and safety/cleanup supplies will be provided for participants.

Volunteers can join U.S. Forest Service Staff and the Ozark Trail Association as we begin trail construction activities on the new Banner Road connector trail and trailhead.

Because of this, the Bureau of Land Management and City of Carlsbad are facilitating a cleanup event on National Public Lands Day to improve this beautiful recreation area.

No previous experience is required.

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield is looking for participants in our first National Public Lands Day event. Whether you're a member of youth organizations and individuals and families of all ages to connect with the national park in their backyard.

This morning event will focus on trail clean-up, assisting with repair of landscaping damaged in spring and early summer severe weather and removal of garbage from creekside areas near trails and visitor use areas. Wilsons Creek is an important tributary of the James River and an important riparian area in the suburban landscape outside of Springfield.

DOPC Volunteer stewardship activities engage participants in restoration projects throughout Dumbarton Oaks Park. This includes removal of invasive plants and caring for newly planted shrubs and trees. Gloves, snacks, tools and training provided. We look forward to welcoming you the Park!

In celebration of National Public Lands Day, join us for our Habitat Restoration drop-in on Saturday, Sept. 27, to improve habitat for native plants and wildlife. Our habitat restoration efforts could include invasive plant removal and/or native plantings. Your efforts will help improve soil quality, restore native plants, and create better habitat for native wildlife. Drop-ins are a great opportunity for both first-time volunteers and veteran volunteers to get involved in their national park.

Join us for a guided nature walk at the iconic Trail of 100 Giants in celebration of National Public Lands Day! This family-friendly walk will explore the awe-inspiring Giant Sequoias of the Sequoia National Forest, offering insights into the area's ecology, history, and conservation efforts. Discover the beauty and importance of public lands while connecting with nature, learning from local experts, and honoring the legacy of stewardship that protects these ancient trees for future generations.

Come explore the Cross Bar and help keep it beautiful. Hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians, hunters, and anyone who enjoys their public lands, and wants to help keep these lands beautiful, should join us! Volunteers will pick up trash along trails and fence lines. Access to the property requires driving through private ranch land. Everyone must meet at the white gate on Brickplant Road by 8:30am to caravan into the property. We will leave the property at 2:00pm the same way we came in.

Sitting at over 4,000ft, Kaʻala is home to many native plants and animals, such Hawaiian honeycreepers, kāhuli (tree snails), pinao (dragonfly), orchids, and lobelias endemic to the area. It is the tallest puʻu (peak) on Oʻahu and can be very difficult to traverse on via public hiking trail. Once in the natural area reserve, hikers can safely traverse through the cloud forest/bog on a boardwalk. However over the years, the boardwalk has been degrading through overuse and invasive species. These invasive species are encroaching on the native habitat. In preparation of the Kaʻala boardwalk rebuild, the focus of this workday will mainly deal with removing invasive species along the boardwalk and bog. Dependent on materials, participants will also assist with moving boardwalk material onto the old boardwalk. After the workday, participants will have the opportunity to hike the boardwalk, learn about the native species in the area, and immerse themselves in the cloud forest.

The Oshtemo Friends of the Parks invites the community to help improve the Disc Golf Course at Oshtemo Township Park on Saturday September 27 from 9am-1pm.

Join the Cherry Hill Environmental Board invites volunteers to help improve Cherry Hill Trails and natural habitat.

Join the BLM Central Yukon Field Office recreation staff as we build boardwalk on the Marion Creek Falls Trail and trim back the brush in the campground. We have jobs for all skill levels. Volunteers should come prepared for any kind of weather, with warm clothing, hats, rain gear, sturdy boots, a daypack and work gloves. Volunteers should also bring water.

Beautify W. Kerr Scott by adding pollinator friendly shrubs and plants around the flag pole at Fish Dam Creek Park. Work on trail renovations at the backyard habitat behind the Environmental Education Center.

Join the Park Rangers for a morning of stewardship where we will use hand tools to improve park habitats. This will include removal of invasive species and may include planting native species. Expect to participate in physical activity. No experience is necessary. All tools, gloves and eye protection will be provided. Bring water, wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Registration is recommended but not required.

In recognition of National Public Lands Day, we're cleaning up and celebrating Gooch Park and the surrounding streets. Please join us at this actively used neighborhood space and participate in a litter pickup!

Volunteers will hike down Powerline to the Middle Fork junction. There will be some structure repair and gravelling in a turnpike. Hiking will be easy to moderate and no more than 2-3 miles for the day

Join the Mono Lake Ranger District for a hands-on volunteer day at the historic Bald Mountain Lookout! This project offers two ways to make a meaningful impact while enjoying stunning mountain views.
• Defensible Space Crew: Help protect the lookout and cabin from wildfire by creating a safe, clear zone around the structures. Tasks include lopping and removing dead brush within 30 feet of the buildings—an essential step in reducing fire risk.
• Cabin Repair Crew: Assist with important upkeep and repairs to the lookout cabin. Carpentry skills are welcome, but no experience is necessary—just bring a willingness to learn and work with your hands.
Whether you prefer working outdoors with tools or helping maintain a historic building, your time and effort will help preserve this treasured site for future generations.

Join the Arizona Trail Association September 26–28 on the North Kaibab for a weekend of camping, camaraderie, and stewardship in celebration of National Public Lands Day and Operation Freedom March with our VETS program. Together we’ll restore fire-damaged sections of Passage 42, ensuring the longevity of one of our nation’s most beloved treasures—our public lands.

Give back to one of our beloved parks on National Pubic Lands Day and volunteer with RMFI in Garden of the Gods, presented by Alpine Bank! We will be working on the Palmer Trail, close to the central garden building rock steps.

This is a community stewardship opportunity, where we welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and communities.

As a way to recognize NPLD and participate in the TN Serves initiative, help the staff of Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park with maintaining the Patriot’s Path Walking Trail Saturday, September 27, 2025. Volunteers will roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty, and work together to pull invasive plants such as English Ivy and Japanese Stiltgrass as part of our autumn trail maintenance. Bring your family, friends, co-workers, teammates, neighbors, or anyone who enjoys our trail and wants to help pull those pesky weeds from the grounds surrounding the trail. Instructions will be provided to all volunteers that participate, and park staff will be available throughout the morning as well to provide support. Some tools and gloves will be available for volunteers to use, but if you have your own that you would like to use, please bring them along.

This litter-pickup event is your opportunity to cleanup the refuge in preparation for the return of migratory ducks, geese, sandhill cranes, and whooping cranes that overwinter at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. The event will start at the Visitor Center at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge at 8:00 AM where volunteers will gather and divide into teams before heading out to the refuge to pickup litter. Teams will meet back at the Visitor Center to compete with other teams for which team collected the most trash and recyclables! The Cleanup for the Cranes is an official Tennessee RiverLine event sponsored by Decatur Morgan County Tourism, Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, and the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge Association.

This is the Annual Rubber Duck Regatta and RiverFest Festival for the Town of New Albany, MS The annual fund raiser on the River is the Rubber Duck Regatta, co sponsored by the New Albany Rotary Club and the Union County Heritage Museum to raise funds for the Park Along the River Project. RiverFest celebrates the town, hosts vendors and live music throughout the downtown area throughout the day culminating with a concert that will end at approximately 10 p.m.
