Government Agencies

Our strong partnerships with federal agencies have provided NEEF access to a wealth of credible knowledge, technical assistance, and financial resources to strengthen environmental education and foster public-private partnerships nationally. Our unique position as a congressionally chartered foundation, established via the National Environmental Education Act of 1990 as a complementary organization to EPA, has facilitated these relationships. Approximately a dozen federal agencies are represented on our board in an Ex-Officio capacity. In addition, we have implemented a number of programs in collaboration with these Federal partners, including annual National Public Lands Day service events hosted by seven land management agencies.
